The project promoted by the ‘Regional Department of Agriculture, is funded by the the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

“It is said Leoluca Orlando – a route that combines history, culture, tradition and religion thanks to the union among many subjects that connects along 180 kilometers starting from the long mountain in Agrigento, Santo Stefano di Quisquina to the shrine of Santa Rosalia in Palermo involving as many as 15 municipalities and the metropolyitan City of Palermo. Palermo – said Orlando – is preparing for this great event having made safe, and therefore made usable again, the old pedestrian road from Monte Pellegrino slopes leading up to the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, this confirms that we want to remember  Santa Rosalia all the days of the year and not just for one day, and confirms that we are facing a new opportunity to admire and appreciate our territories to those who are not from Palermo and Sicily, so in Falcone and Borsellino airport is placed a large image of the Patroness of Palermo. “

Is an act of love towards Sicily which will become an attractor for those who have faith and those who love nature, also enhancing our typical and nature tourism products because the holy Rosalia path can be done on foot, on horseback or by bicycle”. Said the assessor for agriculture Antonello Cracolici.

The path of Santa Rosalia – said the mayor of Santo Stefano di Quisquina, Mr.Francesco Cacciatore – also has a strategic importance for the territory of Agrigento mountain. It is going to enforce tourism, the promotion of the territory and agro-food programs. A religious path, but that makes us bet on local development and on relational tourism. “
