“Tasting Africa” introducing African-Italian beauty

 
African-Italian style art, fashion, food and make-up.

Tasting Africa, an exposition promoted by the Salambò association, in collaboration with the City of Palermo. It will start on 14th december to end in the last weeks of May 2018.

Many initiatives marking the first official meeting between foreign cultures, now settled in Sicily and in Italy, and local cultural traditions, as part of the program for Palermo, Italian Capital of Culture 2018.

The first appointment, on December 14th, at 1:30 pm at Sanlorenzo Mercato, in the presence of the deputy mayor Sergio Marino, of the General Manager of the Mediterranean Fishing Department of the Sicilian Region Dario Cartabellotta and the performers Davide “Atomo” Tinelli among the most famous international street artists, Paolo Sciortino, journalist and screenwriter and Marene Cissè, a Senegalese cook, will be a contest lunch dedicated to the Afro Fusion Experience: five Italian and African chefs will experience a journey through the flavors of different culinary cultures.

          

The calendar of Tasting Africa’s presentation events, scheduled for two days, will then continue in the afternoon, at 4.00 pm, at the Sala Martorana of Palazzo Comitini, with a talk show entitled “The beauty of contamination”, illustrating the new values ​​of African-American beauty.
 

Next, the day after (Friday 15 December),there will be meetings in different locations located in the city (Botanical Garden, Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Scuola Politecnica and Consorzio Arca)  about art, food, fashion and beauty). 

The debut event of Tasting Africa will end on Friday 15 December, from 9.00 pm, as part of the Street Food Fest, at the Gourmet Space in Piazza Marina with a theme cooking show: “Identity, health and sustainability in Afro-Sicilian fusion of street food“.
