The Ambassador of the Netherlands Joep Wijnands met the mayor Leoluca Orlando

The Ambassador of the Netherlands, Mr. Joep Wijnands was received by the mayor Leoluca Orlando at Villa Niscemi, the representative office of the Municipality of Palermo.
The ambassador is in these days visiting Sicily with a delegation from the Netherlands. The purpose of the meeting was to confirm the attention of the Netherlands to Palermo, the appreciation for the cultural change of the City and the presence in the capital of Manifesta, a foundation based in Amsterdam. Among the topics of the visit, the possibility of organizing artistic and cultural events on the occasion of the Biennale of contemporary art in the Sicilian capital.


“During the meeting with the Dutch delegation – declared the mayor – we talked about Palermo, the city of the welcoming to Manifesta and artistic expressions from all over the world as well, and the welcoming to the migrants, which is now a worldwide recognized model. ”
