Will be held in Sicily the biennal conference for Law and Religion

The 8th ICLARS Biennial Conference will be held, from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 September 2026, at University of Palermo, Italy, which will be the co-organizer of the conference.
The general theme of the conference is “State Neutrality and Cooperation with Religion: Protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief without Discrimination”.

The topic is actually important nowaday. Many people suffer a lack of freedom and tolerance and many citizens are confused claiming peace and cooperation.

International Consortium for Law and Religion Studies (ICLARS) www.iclars.org is the most important institution leading the project of a world where politics and religion co-work for a better result in terms of peace, freedom and order. In ist statute is said that “the general purpose of the ICLARS is to promote the development of studies of Law and Religion all over the world. In particular, it will be the ICLARS’ task”.

At the three-days conference will partecipate 270 speakers. The organization of the event in Palermo is due to the efforts of Mario Ferrante, Professor of Ecclesiastical Law Last time the conference was held in Chicago. Next time in 2028, will be held in Singapore.
