The tourist information center was opened in Mondello by Amat, the Palermo public transport company. Here tourists, but also Palermo residents, will find information on the promotion of the city, in addition to the sale of bus and tram tickets, car and bike sharing tickets, information on the products offered by the local public transport company, season tickets for soft mobility in sharing in the points of Piazza Bellini, Via Cavour, at the port, Palazzo Galletti, where the Amat staff will share the space in Cit, and Mondello.
“The first of the Cit is born in Mondello, a center for tourist information and mobility – said the mayor – which brings together the services rendered by the AMAT and the municipal administration, in promoting the best liveability for those who are in the city and for tourists”

The AMAT will have to commit itself to expanding the tourism offer of bike sharing, providing, on request, child seat bicycles. Furthermore, for accommodation facilities, annual bike and car sharing passes will be discounted by 50 percent (the package is called “Amat Tourist”).

“Our presence in Cit will serve to promote the offer of public transport, – said Michele Cimino, sole administrator of the AMAT – as well as having constant contact with tourists and citizens, to provide information about the city, cultural events and, in particular, for the sale of our services”.

The Cit of Mondello will be open every day of the week from 9 am to8 pm. In the next few days the other points will also open: at the port, active from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm and, occasionally, when cruise ships are arriving; in piazza Marina 8.30am – 1.30 pm from Monday to Friday; in Piazza Bellini from Monday to Thursday 8 am-8 pm, Friday 8.30am-6.30pm and Sunday 9 am-7pm; in via Cavour from Monday to Friday 8.30am-6.30pm and Sunday 9 am -7 pm.
