Burkina Faso is the main partner of Blue Sea Land. Collaboration between the Universities of Palermo and Ouagadougou

Burkina Faso is the main partner, together with Tunisia, of the seventh edition of the Blue Sea Land which will take place in Mazara del Vallo from October 4th to 7th.

The State of Burkina Faso, represented by ministers, ambassadors, senior executives of the ministries and important businessmen, will land in Sicily, at the expo of Mazara del Vallo, to present the program of economic and social development of the country and the proposals and facilities that the Government intends to offer to the Sicilian entrepreneurs interested in developing economic and commercial relations with Burkina and with the countries of the Ecowas area, the Economic Community of West Africa.

The government delegation will be composed of the Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries,  Mister Sammanogo Koutou, delegated by Prime Minister Thieba, by the Italian Ambassador, Madame Joséphine Ouedraogo,  Madame Toure Sako, Secretary General Institut des Hautes Etudes Internationales and the general managers of the ministries of agriculture, fisheries and finance.

On the agenda are many institutional meetings,  with the highest authorities of the Region, the president Mister Nello Musumeci and the presidente of the Sicilian Assembly Mister Gianfranco Miccichè, with the Rector of the University of Palermo, Fabrizio Micari and other university leaders, for the signing of a protocol of collaboration and interchange with the University of Ouagadougou, with the Mayors of Palermo Mister Leoluca Orlando and Mazara del Vallo Mister Nicola Cristaldi.

Saturday 6 October, at 10 am, in the council chamber of Mazara del Vallo, the Government of Burkina will present to the Italian and foreign authorities, business organizations, entrepreneurs and traders in Sicily the opportunities for investment and facilities. The regional councilors Salvatore Cordaro and Domenico Turano, the delegate for the internalization of Sicindustria Nino Salerno, the president of the fishing district Nino Carlino, will be present at the meeting, and there will be a debate open to all those present and, later, private meetings with companies and traders interested in signing agreements with the Burkinabé government and businessmen.

Many companies have already made proposals. The work will be coordinated by the lawyer Antonio Tito, (in the photos) Honorary Consul of Burkina Faso in Sicily, who declared “I am very satisfied with the preparatory work done and happy because we will discuss important operational protocols between Government and entrepreneurs, we will start the relationship with the University In Palermo, relations will be strengthened with European states that look favorably on the economic and social development of Burkina Faso and that they will make specific proposals for partnerships. It is a great opportunity that places Sicily in its natural role as a land bridge with developing countries and offers companies in the region an important opportunity for commercial and economic growth “.
