Honorary Citizenship to Syrian writer Samar Yazbek and German translator Moshe Kahn
The Mayor of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando, awarded Honorary Citizenship to Syrian writer Samar Yazbek and German translator Moshe Kahn, “sharing and promoted values from this city.”
The ceremony took place under the Festival of Migrant Literature, in the presence of the President of the Festival, Davide Camarrone.
Orlando expressed “esteem and admiration” to Samar Yazbek for his work on the affirmation of the principles of freedom, democracy and communion among peoples “and Moshe Kahn” for his intellectual work that by translating texts in literature contemporary has facilitated the diffusion of knowledge, intellectual exchange and intercultural dialogue. “
