Task of Sicilian companies in Morocco. Investments with the support of banks and institutions. Incentives to joint ventures and possibility of exporting without paying duties. Meeting on Wednesday 4 December

Sicilian companies and banks intend to build an “economic bridge” with Morocco to create joint ventures that operate in the fields of scientific research, which invest in traditional sectors with innovative technologies, which implement digitalisation processes and state programs for infrastructure development. The logic is that of enhancing the respective economic resources, also in a “green” key, to create “circular economy” chains. Both traditional and innovative Sicilian companies should invest in Morocco and export from there without paying duties. The purpose of this is to promote trade flows in the Mediterranean area, socio-economic development and defend the planet from climate change.
With these objectives, after the meeting at Palazzo delle Aquile last March 25th, the Consulate General of Morocco in Palermo will organize in the spring of 2020, with Banque Centrale Populaire du Maroc, Sace Simest (Group Export and Internationalization Hub Cdp), Irfis-FinSicilia, Sicindustria and Banca Popolare S. Angelo, an economic mission in Morocco of companies and research centers in Sicily, which in Casablanca will meet economic operators and researchers selected by the Banque Centrale Populaire du Maroc and the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco, the local Confindustria.
In preparation of the mission, next Wednesday, 4 December, at 10 am, at the headquarters of the Banca Popolare S. Angelo, in Via Enrico Albanese, 94, in Palermo, the first hundred companies that have already joined the initiative (in the engineering sectors) and turnkey constructions, technologies for the modernization of agriculture and agro-industry, bioplastics, tourism, quality viticulture, marble, furnishings and green building, tech mechanical industry) and some research centers in Sicily specialized in biochemistry and energy renewables will compare their projects with the opportunities offered by the host country. The institutional partners of the mission will illustrate them. Additional companies wishing to participate in the event can call 091/6622261.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Italy, S.E. Youssef Balla; the Consul General in Palermo, Mme Fatima Baroudi; the Mayor of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando; the Director of the Italian branches of Banca Chaabi (Banque Centrale Populaire du Maroc group)), Abdelghani Bouanfir; Sace’s Global senior relationship manager for the Mid Corporate of Campania and Sicily, Antonio Bartolo; the president of Irfis, Giacomo Gargano; the Delegate for the Internationalization of Sicindustria, Nino Salerno; the CEO. of the People’s Bank S.
