A parade outstanding jazzists for the concert “Sicily all stars” scheduled at Teatro Massimo on Thursday, June 15, at 8.30 pm.
On stage, together, the Massimo Orchestra, the Brass Group Orchestra and great performers for an evergreen program of classic and recent works by the same soloists.
An unmissable evening for those who want to get closer to traditional jazz. Director Domenico Riina, soloists Francesco Buzzurro, Lucia Garsia, Vito Giordano, Alessandra Salerno, Francesco Nicolosi, Silvio Barbara, Carmen Avellone, Giuseppe Milici and Pietro Adragna. In collaboration with the The Brass Group Foundation.

It starts with Ernie Wilkins’s We and Us (Arpeggio Arrangement by A. Pedone), continues with New Things Of Love and Soft Colors by Vito Giordano (soloist Vito Giordano, flicorno), and then will be the turn of the great Harmonicist Giuseppe Milici in Bluesette and The Dragon. If you’re talking about jazz, the inevitable George Gershwin, so here is Our Love Is Here To Stay with Carmen Avellone Solo. Always Carmen Avellone Soloist of Honeysuckle Rose by Andy Razaf and Fats Waller. And again the performance of Francesco Buzzuro and his guitar with Dietro un vetro and, together with Domenico Riina, with Viento Caliente; Arturo Sandoval in Marianela with soloist Silvio Barbara (trumpet / flicker). With solo singer Lucia Garsia two performances: Besame Mucho by Consuelo Velasquez and But Not For Me by George Gershwin. And then again the Summer of ’42 by Michel Legrand with solo accordionist Pietro Adragna and follow Oblivion by Astor Piazzola with violinist Francesco Nicolosi who will perform also in Dangerous by David Garret.
