Orlando applauds Ienzi for winning the International Human Rights Art Festival in New York

Great appreciation for Alessandro Ienzi who yesterday won the International Human Rights Art Festival in New York, one of the most prestigious awards for artists committed to the protection of human rights. This recognition is part of the cultural growth path of our city which has for years now become a point of reference for the link between culture and rights ". This was stated by Mayor Leoluca Orlando commenting on the victory of the director and founder of Raizes Teatro and a 33-year-old lawyer from Palermo at the International Human Rights Art Festival in New York, the highest international recognition for artists who support the protection of rights with own artistic production. Ienzi won the award with Human Freedom 21, an international program for the promotion of human rights through the arts, which will be developed throughout 2021 with the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice (an international university institution), Avant-Garde Lawyers in Paris ( association of lawyers that supports artists deprived of fundamental rights), IHRAF of New York and Raizes Teatro of Palermo
