Twin Cities in Sustainable Partnership. Palermo creates a bridge between Europe and Africa

On February 17, the Municipality of Palermo and the metropolitan city of Sekondi-Takoradi (in the photo above) launch the “Twin Cities in Sustainable Parternship” initiative.

It is an international cooperation project deemed strategic and deserving for which the European Union has allocated a contribution of 2,850,000 euros as part of the "Local Authorities - Partnerships for inclusive cities" program which involves local authorities from different regions of the world . In Sub-Saharan Africa the projects will take place in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Mozambique and Namibia. The initiative has a three-year duration and will allow for the consolidation of the relationship between the two "all port" cities which, in the previous months, have signed a twinning. As part of the project, the organization of a transnational festival dedicated to contemporary African art will be held in the Ghanaian city and in Palermo, with the involvement of the African community living in the city; the Ghanaian is the most numerically representative.
