Reżyser Krzysztof Warlikowski Polski najważniejszego współczesnego teatru, tytuł honorowego obywatela miasta Palermo. Warlikowski, między innymi jest autorem międzynarodowego przesłanie tegorocznego Światowego Dnia Teatru, obchodzony 27 marca.
Uroczystość, która odbyła się w Teatro Massimo, udział Burmistrz Leoluca Orlando, Konsul Honorowy RP w Palermo, David Farina, Radca ds Kultury, Andrea Cusumano, kurator Teatro Massimo Francesco Giambrone.
