The Mayor Leoluca Orlando met the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Joep Wijnands

The Mayor Leoluca Orlando received, at Palazzo delle Aquile, the Ambassador in Italy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Joep Wijnands, which is in Palermo for the opening of the twelfth edition of Manifesta, the roving European Biennial of Contemporary Art.

“The Ambassador – declared the Mayor – has accepted my invitation to meet journalists in the City Hall, to talk about the attention that the Netherlands has towards Palermo, not to say about the visit,  last year, of the King and Queen of Holland. Also is important the presence in Palermo of Manifesta, an institution of Dutch origin and the presence of many artists and economic operators, collectors and gallery owners who came from Holland expressing appreciation for Palermo,  the city that appears to have had in recent years an extraordinary cultural change and becoming a reality for art, cultur and even economics  in the heart of the Mediterranean “.
