The International Museo delle Marionette Antonio Pasqualino is the museum of the Year 2017
The International Museo delle Marionette Antonio Pasqualino won the ICOM Italia Award – Museum of the Year 2017. The awards ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at Palazzo Brera in Milan, in the Maria Teresa room of the Braidense National Library.
The jury, unanimously, decided to reward the Pasqualino museum with the following motivation:
“The museum knows how to value the material and the immaterial heritage. In a city that is strongly touristy and rich in history, the museum can attract many types of audiences with an original collection and quality programs. The UNESCO’s important acknowledgments, international collaborations and the strong participation of the Palermo community have for years been reporting this museum as one of the most beloved and wonderful Italian museums. A widespread and passionate audience is related to the shows often organized by the museum and the children’s workshops. Accessible to all visitors, impresses for the unforgettable beauty of the exhibits. ”
“This important acknowledgment to the Pasqualino museum – emphasized the Mayor, Leoluca Orlando – comes along with many other important awards given to the city in recent years, from the UNESCO World Heritage List, Palermo’s Young Capital 2017, to the IBM / Smarter Award city, Manifesta 12 and, of course, the Italian Capital of Culture 2018″.
